According to AlfaStrakhovanie, in 2025, Chery Arrizo 8 sedans and Great Wall Poer pickups became the most stolen Chinese cars in Russia.
According to insurers, the share of Chinese cars in the total number of stolen vehicles reached 28%. Chery, Haval, Changan, and LiXiang are the most popular brands among criminals, each accounting for about 4% of all insurance claims for theft.
The Renaissance Insurance company's ranking includes only one Chinese model, the Haval F7 crossover.
Statistics for 2024 show that Geely cars were the most frequently stolen, with the highest number of thefts occurring in Moscow. Although the theft rate for Chinese brands is currently lower than for Russian and Korean cars, experts predict an increase in the number of Chinese car thefts due to their growing market share.
The statistics only consider cars with active CASCO policies.
