Automotive industry expert Alexander Dorofeev reported that in the coming years, around nine new Chinese car brands may appear on the Russian market.
According to Dorofeev, these new brands could take significant positions in the country. He finds the Lotus brand particularly interesting, as it is a luxury marque with British roots. In particular, the electric crossover Eletre can compete with Western models such as the Audi Q5 e-Tron and Mercedes EQS.
The expert also highlighted the prospects of the Swedish brand Lynk & Co, which will be presented in Russia under the names Knewstar and NordCross. With the opening of the Zeekr Group representative office, dealer and buyer interest in this brand is expected to grow significantly, Dorofeev predicts.
Additionally, he mentioned brands such as Maxus, Nio, Onvo, Wuling, Xiaomi, and Xpeng. Amid discussions about the return of foreign brands to Russia, the appearance of official representations of major Chinese automakers cannot be ruled out, the expert emphasizes. The arrival of new players in the market will promote healthy competition, he concluded.
