In the industrial park «Uzlovaya» in the Tula region, a large-scale project by the Chinese corporation Great Wall Motor (GWM) is launching — the construction of a modern plant for the production of transmissions and automotive components. This move is a logical continuation of the already operating Haval auto plant, which also belongs to GWM and is located just a few steps from the new facility.
Local Production Ecosystem
The new plant will create a unique ecosystem where automotive component manufacturing and vehicle assembly are highly integrated. This will significantly increase the level of localization, reduce dependence on imported parts, and strengthen supply chains within the region.
Contribution to the Economy and Employment
Investment: 30 billion rubles
Jobs: approximately 1,000 new positions
Localization and Sustainable Development Strategy
In April 2025, GWM and regional authorities agreed to deepen the localization of Haval vehicles produced in Tula. The new plant is the next step in implementing this strategy. Company representatives emphasize their readiness to invest in Russian manufacturing and develop sustainable cooperation.
